Groundfish Market Demand in California
We’re pleased to announce that Changing Tastes and Wilderness markets will be collaborating to carry out the market research for groundfish in California announced in our RFP. Having robust data about business and institutional buyers close to the consumer will address one of the key information gaps we identified in our value chain analysis; the ultimate goal of the work is to improve the economic value of products from this fishery.
With a specific focus on the California groundfish fishery, Changing Tastes will work to identify and quantify the key distribution channels for fishery products by species, and provide insight and recommendations into optimum channels of distribution based on product and species.
Changing Tastes and Wilderness Markets will develop a survey to poll end buyer businesses and institutions in order to provide current and new market participants, as well as potential investors, with the data needed to make sound investment decisions.

In addition to the value chain analysis, we also completed a series of blog posts on the topic of markets and value for California groundfish. You can find the first in the series here.
